DESCRIPTION:
There are two Ekadashi celebrations: the one held yearly and the other one that is celebrated monthly. Yogini Ekadeshi is the Ekadashi of the waning fortnight of the Hindu month of Ashadha.
Yogini Ekadashi is the most significant of the Ekadashi. Fasting on this day is done to rid oneself of various ailments and diseases. It is believed that in observing this vrat, each will be blessed with good health and be redeemed of sins and ill deeds.
Devotees observe fast during the day and worship Lord Vishnu. Grains and rice should be avoided on this day.
